We stayed in Llanfairfechan along the North Wales coast in our second week of vacation.
We were in the Towers, a large house at the coast with enough space for the 16 members of my extended family (8 adults and 8 children). As you can see it has a tower on it accessible by a narrow winding staircase. The house was built for the Harbourmaster; however, the Harbour was never built!
The following slideshow is of all my Llanfairfechan pictures. I didn’t upload the other photos from Wales yet. A lot of these are of us on the beach. There was a large sandy beach by the house with a stream which obviously needed damming and diverting (we thought so, anyway).
In between showers and when the tide wasn’t all the way in we headed for the beach and got to work. The set of children’s sand shovels we bought broke right away. We joked about needing gardening tools then bought some since they were the only decent digging implements we found.
We had two sessions of damming and diverting the stream. We wondered if we’d created a permanent feature when our channel was still there after the tide came in and out. But when the sea turned rougher on the last night it washed it away completely.
