Ben and West had Piano Guild on Monday. They both played well and were happy with how it went. It sounded good from outside the door. This was my first year to go inside the room (because I was accompanying West on the Raccoon Rag duet).
Ben will get a plaque because he’s just completed ten years of at least ten pieces for Guild. West is one year behind him: she’s done at least ten pieces for nine years.
Ben and West’s teacher said the judge was a relatively low marker. They still got excellent scores. Ben got 35 Cs, 1 A. West got 31 Cs, 2 As. Ben’s comments included “phenominal technique” and “enormous talent”. West’s included “lovely technique”, “delightful playing, poised, well-prepared”.
