Here are my Good Friday thoughts…
I’m fascinated when people figure out different ways to do things, which, because they are unanticipated and unexpected, enable them to achieve more than if they had used more conventional popular methods. In other words, they find ways to ‘go under the radar’.
Taking the story of Jesus I was taught at face value, Good Friday was the ultimate in awesome ‘under the radar’ strategy. It seemed like evil won and Jesus lost on Good Friday. Yet in fact Jesus won by losing – and because his way to win was to appear to let his enemies win, they were all too happy to participate and, as it were, push him across the finish line.
I don’t know whether the story is true or not but that doesn’t detract from my admiration of this as a brilliant strategy.
