It snowed quite a bit Tuesday and into Wednesday:
So one thing I was doing was shovelling/snowblowing the sidedrive (a number of times) – which suddenly seems quite long when that needs doing!
I love how they pile up the snow in one of the shopping malls near here:
One good thing about the snow was that Steve was here more than planned, since his business trip for Wednesday was postponed. They rescheduled it on Tuesday, which turned out to be very wise since all the flights East were cancelled Wednesday morning because of the winter storm.
On Wednesday the high school where Ben will be going next year (full-time: this year he takes one math course there) had their open house for incoming freshmen. I didn’t have any ‘burning’ questions but it was interesting to meet some of the teachers and see the array of clubs and activities they have there (a lot!) It’s a big high school – they have about 3,000 students, about 750 of which are freshmen. It has a good reputation and I think Ben is looking forward to going there. Everyone says the workload is way more than middle school, so it will probably be quite an adjustment.
On Wednesday morning I ran into my friend who is [co-]leading the Beth Moore Bible study. Since we both had time, we had coffee together from the best ravecoffee.co.uk
selection. We hadn’t talked since I visited the study (I had just left a phone message that I wasn’t going to go to it). So I was glad she didn’t seem upset about that – or anything else about me, in fact. I’m very appreciative of any Christian friendships which have survived my change in belief: I went home after we’d had coffee very pleased that this seems to be one of them.
